Our beautiful, ethical and very gift-able plant dye silk ribbon kit contains everything you need to dye silk ribbon with plant extracts. Using a steam bundle dye technique we have chosen dyes that are suitable for use in your home kitchen, including lavender and mint to fill your kitchen with the scents of the Mediterranean, and hibiscus to evoke warmer climes.
We provide the kit, all you will need access to is a pan, colander (optional), water and a bit of patience. Comprehensive instructions are included in a beautiful booklet, and there is even space for your notes and samples.
The ribbons have been pre-mordanted with alum (potassium aluminium sulfate) which will help the dyes to bond to the silks, and improve light and colour fastness.
