Join Sian at the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery in south east Cornwall for a delightful day exploring natural colour, finding inspiration from nature and learning tried and tested recipes for creating botanical colour on cloth.

Held in the beautiful tipi structure, with glorious views over the south east Cornwall landscape of the Duchy of Cornwall, the workshop will be fun as well as informative.  Let Sian guide you through the foundations of natural dyeing with plants, exploring different types of fabrics, mordants, creating dye baths as well as modifiying colours to create a simple sample book of colours.

There will also be an exclusive opportunity to walk through the cutting garden with Head Gardener Darren Topps, discussing plants suitable for dyeing and offering growing tips and advice.

Finally, all students will have the opportunity to dye a beautiful silk scarf to take home.

Running from 10am to 4pm, all refreshments provided, and a delicious lunch in The Orangery, plus cake back at the tipi.

This course is suitable for beginners and requires no specialist knowledge.
